1.HOW DO YOU GET YOUR COLORS IN YOUR ORIGINALS TO BE SO VIVID?
Since acrylic paint is essentially translucent, we must apply multiple layers of each color -- often as many as a dozen -- to get the paint opaque enough to glow. Then we apply pen and ink for the black line and fine details. This helps to define the edges of each element and to set up a heightened contrast which makes each color visually "pop".

2.WHAT DOES "ARCHIVAL" MEAN?
"Archival" means that the papers and inks have been formulated to withstand fading, bleeding, color shifting, and generally going to Hell in a Handbasket. So what this means to you is that your Prized Piece will continue to lift your spirits and make you laugh for decades to come!

4.HOW AM I GOING TO GET MY MATTED REPRODUCTION FRAMED?
Since we mat our work only in standard frame sizes (8x10, 11x14, 16x20) any ready made frame or frame components will work. This makes it a "piece of cake", and very inexpensive, to frame your New Friend! Of course, if you're a recent lottery winner, a $2000 custom frame will also do!!

5.WHAT ABOUT FRAMING MY ORIGINAL? HOW MUCH IS THAT GONNA COST?
Nada. Nothing. Nil. Zero. Zilch. Not one thin dime! All our originals are painted on Gallery Wrap Canvases. These are the ones which have the clean edges (no staples) and which are thicker (up to an inch and a half) for the medium to large canvases. Our painted image continues from the front all around the sides, top, and bottom of the canvas so not only does it now have a Fun 3-D Look, it also can be displayed "as is" without the distraction - and added expense - of a frame!

6.OK... ONE PAINTING... TWO ARTISTS... HOW DOES THAT WORK?
Easy, I do all the work. No! I do all the work!! Actually, LaughterPieces is a completely collaborative effort. Kathy, the "Graphics-Meister", concentrates on the visuals while Chris, the "Verbal Artist", comes up with the puns and plays on words. We work together on the theme, elements, lay-out, perspective, and any heady social message in the painting. Our Humor Control Department subjects every idea to Rigorous Laughter and Fun Testing and only those which are Completely Hilarious go on to have Kathy, The "Arteest", paint the actual original canvas. Then, after we both pick ourselves up off the floor from laughing, we again work together on producing our signed and numbered Limited Edition Reproductions, the matting and framing of them, and the schlepping of our work to Art Shows.

7.YOU TWO MUST HAVE PETS...?
We currently have only our cat, Majesty, as in, "Yes, Your Majesty. Right away Your Majesty." She adopted us in 2002 after being abandoned - twice! - in her first two years (we learned her history from the neighbor). She, along with other cats Kathy has had, is the inspiration for several of our images. Chris, on the other hand, has always been a "Dog Person". In fact, he had a dog once who loved trucks so much she would have gotten her own Driver's License except that since she didn't have thumbs she couldn't hold a pen to sign the DMV forms!!
